Be part of the all-volunteer team making the best satire in Minnesota! Minnesota Tonight is the only late night comedy show focused on satirizing the news, politics and issues happening right here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. Each taping features monologues, video segments, interviews with local luminaries, and musical guest performances, all filmed in front of an audience. Since 2015 Minnesota Tonight has created politically relevant comedy in the spirit of “The Daily Show”, entirely focused on the news and issues that hit closest to home. We are now accepting submissions for our Video Editor Position.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Minnesota Tonight is looking for a Video Editor to work with other team members to edit stage performances and pre-recorded content creating video clips for social media platforms. We are looking for a Video Editor with a keen eye for detail and self motivation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Edit raw footage from live taping using pre designed template and standard

• Remove any hiccups or errors with the live show footage

• Work with Directors and Producers to meet their specifications

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

• Edit footage from other, pre-recorded facets of MN Tonight (i.e. Sketches, Remotes, Promos)

• Assist Video Producers in filming both live and pre-recorded shoots

• Attend the live taping every month and assist when necessary

REQUIREMENTS

• Experience editing with Adobe Premiere

• Experience working in a team environment

• Access to computer with ability to run Adobe Premiere

• Approximately 3-10 hours of work per week.

PAYMENT

• All 30 MNT writers, producers, filmmakers and editors are committed, unpaid volunteers. This position is likewise, unpaid.
